Eloise Chronicles- 4 Games that follow a women through her lovecraft adventure

H Scene Count- High

Created by Nikraria is the main credit, translated by

Length- First game is about 30 minutes, second is 10 minutes, third is about an hour or two, fourth is 3+ hours

A series of 5 point and click adventures focused on an overly busty red headed married women and her encounters with eldritch beings and those who follow them. It’s decently atmospheric with some love it or hate it art, which is what I played it for.

These games are janky, and will often feel like they break around you if you don’t follow a guide and sometimes even then. Play this for the art only, though the story is okay in the last entry.

There is a fifth game that I won’t talk about called Blackstone-Rebecca, which introduces a girl you can play as in the final game. It’s unfinished and I couldn’t find it after some basic searches so this will be only about the other 4 games.

[Ecchi]Livestream: Escape from Izanami Hotel

The second not VN from qureate, a Vn group that brought Ninnin Days, Trouble Days, and most recently Harem Tavern. This is very different then those. This is a horror themed game, with I guess some ecchi elements. Like Prison Princess, this is mostly concerned with some puzzle solving and having the right item from pixel hunting.

Before I get any further, horror and ecchi really don’t fit. Porn can work, ecchi just does not. What little ecchi this has makes me question even calling it an ecchi game, but it does have a “all girls 18+” disclaimer.

Hot Spring Hero

H Scene Count- 15

Created by EXAMGAMES, translated by Nitrostat

Length- 5-10 hours

WolfRPG life simulator kind of game. It’s a laid back thing with no dark elements, just collect stuff to make better stuff and watch SOL stuff as you get to know the four beauties at the Hot Spring.

This is plot lite. The easiest comparison would be Atelier, where a lot of the game is collecting materials and crafting/exchanging those materials to get stronger and beat the game.

Rance Quest Magnum

H Scene Count-70+(probably more)

Created by Alicesoft, translated by Mangagamer

Length- 50+ hours Purchase

Rance Quest is game 8 in the series, and when it was released was panned by most people I saw talking about it. It was very grindy, had a bad ending that showed Rance at his worst, had a lot of dangling plot threads and just in general was not well designed.

Tada, the man in charge of the Rance series had a different job during Quest’s development, and so the product we got had none of the original Rance team work on it. After its bad reception, Tada stepped in and started fixing the game with updates and eventually Magnum, an expansion that added a lot of necessary plot, a better ending, and a lot of h scenes for characters who lacked them. We got basically the final version of the game, which includes a mode called TADA mode, which doubles xp and gold gain. I turned this on as soon as I could as I heard the pacing of the game was still bad, and yeah. It was. Definitely. Got better though.

Quest was supposedly a goodbye to some older Rance characters as a lot of faces in this were not suppose to show up again, which was why Quest had Rance travel basically everywhere he has ever been before. Considering Rance 10 is the biggest game in the series(and the longest VN by word in existence), I don’t think they needed to do that.
